About Us
The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is the leading National Professional nonprofit making Society for the Technical Education System in our country with the motto of Career Development of Teachers and Personality Development of Students and overall development of our Technical Education System operating in association with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and other International Projects. We are the Oldest Students’ Chapter of Eastern India.
Hackathon
We are excited to present "NITDGP Hacks 1.0", an offline hackathon with a prime focus on college going students in and outside NIT Durgapur. This event promises to be a great learning and immersive experience, combining live coding, brainstorming, and building with the team in a very short span. Unlike many hackathons where there’s an unfair advantage to those having a vast hackathon experience, we aim to set a platform for freshmen to learn and spark their curiosity in hackathons, by making this one of their best first-hackathons. This highly acclaimed offline event of our society, is open to students across all streams in and out of NIT Durgapur.
Note
At the moment we are not sponsoring accommodation and travel for students outside the campus, but they are welcome arranging on their own or joining virtually. We expect to change this in the upcoming editions as we grow bigger. Thanks!

- AI for Social Good
Develop AI solutions to tackle social issues like healthcare access, environmental sustainability, or education equality.
- Web3 Track
Utilize Web3 tools to solve challenges from other tracks, integrating decentralized technologies like blockchain, smart contracts, or decentralized finance.
- HealthTech Solutions
Develop tech to improve healthcare delivery, patient care, disease prevention, or mental wellness.
- Fintech Innovation
Revolutionize finance with apps, blockchain solutions, digital wallets, or algorithmic trading tools.
- Cybersecurity Challenges
Design solutions to safeguard data, privacy, networks, or systems from cyber threats.
- Open Innovation Challenge
Work on any project of choice, fostering creativity, experimentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
